The Blackbox RTS Stability Monitor is an instability detection system which has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of S5.2.5.10 of the National Electricity Rules (NER) and is currently installed on 14 generating systems throughout the NEM. The system is fully designed in Australia.

Based on the SEL RTAC platform, the Stability Monitor detects subsynchronous oscillations as low as 0.1 Hz and integrates seamlessly with the site SCADA system to raise alarms and provide real time analysis to inform operators of detected instability.

Our standard service include system supply, pre-programming, SCADA testing and site commissioning. Assistance with oscillation analysis, site servicing and ongoing compliance is also available.
